"Huh?" Blue stopped thinking of food. "Elimination? Who? Us?

"Humanity with either be invited as a guest to the Cosmic Civilizations or eradicated as a menace to the Cosmic Civilizations."
Blue swallowed hard. Suddenly the urge to find his master was more urgent than ever."

Everybody was just a person, good parts, bad parts, but a human being who deserved respect. Life was now hard enough without prejudice and bigotry crippling the group.

Everybody now was essentially a refugee, a survivor. The hatred, the violence, and mistrust had vanished among them. Bigotry, misogyny, racism, all of it disappeared nearly overnight because survivors had no time for such things, everybody was needed, every skill, every set of hands, everybody was welcome.
Of course, Tomas thought wryly, that didn't keep humans from being human.”
