Mr. Whitten, writer, musician, artist, who lives on a small farm in Washington State  with his wife, Merry. He also shares his life with a Golden Retriever Bodhi, and Sophie, the seriously famous semi-feral cat. 

Mr. Whitten is a retired Clinical Social Worker who worked for the Veterans Administration and in Private Practice. He specialized in dealing with Trauma, both individually and in groups. He has worked with survivors of forest fires, earthquakes, floods, hurricanes, tornadoes, mass shooting situations and, of course, war. 

Mr Whitten is an enrolled member of the Citizen Nation Potawatomi, Shawnee, Oklahoma. He is active in Native American ceremonies and affairs. 

He is also a two tour veteran of Vietnam having served with the 11th Armored Cavalry Regiment in III Corps, and with the Americal Division,  23rd Infantry in I Corps.
